NYC 13.1
When I brought home my medal last weekend from the NYC 13.1 Marathon Series, Asher thought I had won the race. I chose not to correct him. His days of thinking his mama is the best at everything are numbered ..... especially since we started drawing together. The reality was that when I crossed the finish line (nowhere near the front of the pack, for the record), I felt a lot of mixed emotions: PRIDE that I had finally completed this long elusive goal, RELIEF that the long, cold training runs were over, and a little DISAPPOINTMENT in my time (and already plotting a do-over). Big thanks to KGlass for letting me stay at her beautiful NYC apartment and sharing her cheering section at the race! And also, of course, to Easy Ed for taking care of the boys and the house while I ran around New York (literally).
